Vugar Gashimov Memorial 2022

The Vugar Gashimov memorial 2022 will take place from 18-23 December in Baku, Azerbaijan. It will be a 10-player super-tournament consisting of Rapid and Blitz stages. The Rapid portion will be played in 9 rounds, round-robin system, with time control 15 min + 10 sec, and the Blitz tournament will be played in 18 rounds, round-robin system, with time control 3 min + 2 sec. The final standings will be determined according to the sum of points of Rapid and Blitz events.

The Festival features two tournaments: Open A and Open B, with the total prize fund of 27.155eur. After two played rounds and several upsets, as many as 54 players emerged with the perfect 2/2 score.
