The FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022 is starting in just a few days. Jan-Krzysztof Duda has shared his secret Candidates training… and it looks like he is ready for a fight!

The 15th edition of the Paleochora International Chess Tournament takes place from 17-24 July in Paleochora, a city of the southwest Cretan coast. Paleochora School & Cultural Center of Paleochora will host the event which already has 200 entries from 26 countries, including 19 grandmasters and 15 international masters.

Teimour Radjabov is already in Madrid, where he will compete in the upcoming FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022. In a short tweet, Radjabov informed his loyal fans of his arrival. The Rigo Janos Memorial Chess Open 2022 was held from 26 May – 3 June in Balatonlelle a resort town located on the southern shore of Hungary’s Balaton Lake. The event commemorated Rigo Janos, International chess master, Arbiter, and Organizer.

The 56th edition of the Ilmar Raud Memorial Chess Tournament will take place 3-10 July at the Viljandi Sports Center in Viljandi, a town in southern Estonia. This year, the event will include qualifications for Estonian Men’s and Women’s Individual Chess Championships, Estonian Junior Chess Championships, and Estonian Seniors Chess Championships. Based on the final results, Estonian best female and male players will qualify for the National finals.

Ding Liren is now on his way to Madrid where he will participate in the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022. Many chess fans were alarmed whether he will be on time for the opening ceremony and round 1, as the current pandemic lockdown could ruin his plans. His departure is late and chances are he will be jetlagged for the first rounds, but it is still a good news for the tournament that Ding Liren is on his way.

The 30th edition of the Heart of Finland Chess Open / Nordic Open Chess Championship will be held from 18-24 July 2022 in Jyväskylä.

Western Asia Youth Chess Championship 2022 will take place from 15-23 June in the Maldives. The event features: Rapid, Blitz, and Classical championships, played in 6 age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, open and girls sections separately.
