The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 will feature the first-ever Torch Relay to be carried in Chess Olympiad. The All India Chess Federation will organize on this occasion the Olympiad Torch Run International Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2022 which will be held on the 19th of June at Indira Gandhi International Stadium in Delhi.

This summer, the Saint Louis Chess Club will host three national championship events showcasing the best American seniors, juniors and girls chess players.  From July 6 – 16, 2022, Saint Louis, America’s Chess Capital, will host the top 10 juniors, girls, and seniors in the invitational 2022 U.S.

The Greek Chess Federation Board met on Saturday, 4th of June, and among decisions related to the work of the Federation, confirmed the composition of National Teams for the upcoming 44th Chess Olympiad 2022. During the same meeting, the Board announced support of Makroupoulos’s candidacy for the position of FIDE Vice President.

A not occasional situation happened yesterday in the game between Viswanathan Anand and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov in the 8th round of Norway Chess 2022. Anand played 22.Qb5 and resigned out of blue.
