International Chess-Tennis Masters will take place from August 13 to 15, 2022, at the Vienna Athletic Sports Club. Men’s and women’s tennis singles and the chess rapid event be held on August 13 and 14 and tennis and chess doubles on Monday 15 August.

Tajfun Ljubljana Team wins Slovenian Teams Women’s Championship 2022

The Slovenian National Women’s Team Chess Championship 2022 took place over two weekends in May, being played from 13-15 and 21-22 May at the Grand Hotel in Rogaska Slatina.

The second top seed according to the average rating of players – team of Tajfun Ljubljana Chess Club clinched gold with the perfect score of 10 match points and 14/15 board points. (scroll down for the final rankings)

IM Nikolay Noritsyn wins Ontario Open 2022

The Ontario Open Chess Tournament took place from May 21 through May 23, at the beautiful West Toronto Masonic Temple.

The event featured 4 tournaments: U2200, U1800, U1400 and the main tournament Ontario Crown Open 2022. The events gathered more than 170 players who fought for the total prize fund of 8.500$. All information about the events can be found here

20th European Union Youth Chess Championship U8-U14

The 20th edition of the European Union Youth Chess Championship U8-U14 will take place from 21st – 30th August 2022 in Prague, Hotel STEP.

The event is open for citizens of a member state of the European Union or of a Schengen state. Each federation can register one player, a boy or a girl, in each of the categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, and an unlimited number of extra (additional) players.

Uppsala Chess+ Academy and Offerspill Sjakklubb initiate a formal cooperation

An agreement has been signed between the Norwegian chess club Offerspill and Uppsala Chess+ Academy from Uppsala, Sweden. This agreement means that the organizations are linked closer to each other, and that they will help with each other’s development through training, competition, and other areas of cooperation.  The most concrete part of the collaboration is that Uppsala Chess+ Academy’s head coach Jesper Bergmark Hall will be the training coordinator creating specialized training plans for Offerspill’s strongest players.

FIDE Candidates 2023 – rules of replacement approved
