Tata Steel Chess 2018 is traditionally the first super open chess tournament of the year. The 80th edition of the Tata Steel will take place in Wijk aan Zee from 12 – 28 January 2018. As part of Tata Steel Chess On Tour the Tata Steel Masters will play a round in Beeld en Geluid in Hilversum on Wednesday 17 January and a round in the Academiegebouw of Groningen University on Wednesday 24 January. All matches, including the ones in Hilversum and Groningen, are open to the public free of charge.

Tata Steel Chess 2018 is traditionally the first super open chess tournament of the year. The 80th edition of the Tata Steel will take place in Wijk aan Zee from 12 – 28 January 2018. The Challengers section will be one of the strongest ever with GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, GM Amin Bassem, and GM Michal Krasenkow as top seeded.

Chessdom will have daily coverage with the top computer engines of TCEC – Houdini, Komodo, and Stockfish

The games had begun, the top seeds were comfortably seated on their boards. For the professional star players, it was yet another day at work. 14-year-old Koustav Chatterjee, rated 2288, was the only player waiting anxiously for his opponent. American GM Timur Gareyev, rated 2605, had ‘left’ the official car and had not reached the venue. He had decided that he will come to the venue on his own. The clock was ticking and the walkover time-limit of 30 minutes was fast approaching.

The 16th edition of Delhi International Open Chess Tournament got off to a perfect start for the star players as they were off to a winning start in the opening round except for a couple of upsets among Grandmasters.

Top seed GM Arkadij Naiditsch, rated 2701, had a very easy outing after his opponent Varshini V., rated 2062, failed to create any chances and lost. Naiditsch said, “I am wary of the Indian youngsters as they are known to be dangerous and underrated. Today, it was an easy day.”

European ACP Women Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2018 will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 29th March- 2nd April.

Municipality Veliko Gradište, Chess Club VGSK, Branicevo Chess Union and Danubia Hotels are warmly welcoming all participants and guests to the Chess Festival “Silver Lake 2018″.

The Chess Festival will take place from 17-24th June, 2018, at the “Kamin hall” of Restaurant Sidro and “Great hall” of Danubia Park Hotel on Silver Lake in Serbia.

The 16th Delhi International is a 10-round Swiss Open taking place from 9-16 January 2018.The venue is Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India.
