The MTS Logistics GM Tournament is a 10-player 5 Double Round Robin System taking place from 5-14 January 2018 in Izmir, Turkey. Five Turkish players, Team
White, compete against a team of five foreign players , Team Blue. The venue will be Vesta Fuar hotel.

The 26th Masters Chess Championship Elgoibar took place from 16th-22nd December, 2017, in the Town hall of Elgoibar, Spain.

The Championship was organized by the Basque Chess Federation, in collaboration with the Basque Government, Excellent City Council of Elgoibar, F.E.D.A. and Sociedad Zubi Ondo.

The prestigious closed event featured 10 players, among whom are 4 Grand Masters and 5 International Masters. In the very strong competition the winner of the Championship became GM Henrik Teske from Germany who scored 6 points.

The 29th Roquetas de Mar chess open will be held from 2-7 January 2018.The venue will be Hotel Bahia Serena.

The Top Chess Engine Championship Season 11 is going to start January 3rd, 2018.
