The Chess Olympiad is one of the major events in the world of sports, attracting more than 180 countries and around 4,000 athletes and officials.

This year Georgia will be organizing the 43rd Chess Olympiad. This large-scale event will start in Batumi on September 23 and end on October 6.

Sixteen countries had participated in the first Chess Olympiad but the 43rd Chess Olympiad is expecting the teams of women and men from approximately 190 countries.

Belarus Women’s Championship 2018 is 12 players round robin tournament , which will be held from 17 to 28 january in Minsk.The venue is National Historical Museum. Theatre.

The top players are GM Vladislav Kovalev, GM Sergey Zhigalko, and GM Aleksey Aleksandrov

The 77th Georgian Championship will be held as knockout system between 16 players. Time control will be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
