The 47th Biel Chess Festival “In Memoriam Hans Suri” is held from 12th to 25th July, 2014, in Biel/ Bienne, a town in Switzerland.

The 42nd Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting 2014 is held on 12-20th July as an 8-player round robin tournament.

The event is organized by the City of Dortmund and the German Chess Federation. The playing venue is Orchesterzentrum NRW, Brückstraße 47, Dortmund, Germany.

The 9th International Chess Tournament “Nana Aleksandria’s Cup – 2014″ is taking place from 12th to 20th July, 2014, in Poti, a port city in Georgia, situated on the eastern Black Sea coast.

The event is organized by Local Management of Poti, Georgian Chess Federation and Chess and Draughts complex sport school of Poti “Nana” with media support of Telecasting Company “Ninth Wave” and provides hefty prize fund in the amount of 33.200 GEL (19.300$).

Grandmasters Boris Gelfand (2725) and Peter Svidler (2793) will play a Rapid Chess match of 8 games on July 20-24 2014 in Jerusalem, Israel.

The match, open to the general public, is the highlight of the 2nd Gideon Japhet Memorial Open Chess Tournament, to take place in Jerusalem on July 16-24.
