FIDE World Team Chess Championship 2015 – Lineups

The World Team Chess Championship 2015 is organized by the Armenian Chess Federation under the auspices of FIDE, from 18-29th April in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia.

The tournament will be held at the Golden Palace Tsakhkadzor Hotel.

According to FIDE Regulations and the decision of FIDE President the following federations participate in the championship:
Russia, China, Hungary, India, USA, Egypt, Ukraine, Armenia, Cuba, Israel.

San SebastianThe “San Sebastian City” 38th International Chess Open was held 28th March to 4th April, 2015, in Donostia – San Sebastián, a coastal city and municipality located in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain.

FIDE Women’s World Championship – Final Game 3

The third game of the FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship final match was played in the SCC Galactica (Sochi, Krasnaya Polyana) on April 4.

Natalia Pogonina had White. The players repeated their opening from the first game – the Meran variation of the Slav defense. On the move 11 White deviated from their previous encounter, implementing a modern and very aggressive plan.

Ivan Ivanisevic winner of 2015 Karposh Open

Serbian Grandmaster Ivan Ivanisevic won the 2015 Karposh Open in Skopje after concluding the competition with 7,5/9 points, leaving the group of eight followers half a point behind.

The Karposh Open is a traditional chess event organized by the municipality Karposh, Skopje, in collaboration with Chess Club Gambit Asseco SEE. It run from 27th March to 3rd April.

Philadelphia Open 2015 LIVE!

The 9th Annual Philadelphia Open is held over the Easter weekend from April 1-5, 2014, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Open section has a 5-day schedule (April 1-5), 9-round Swiss, with the time control 40/2, SD/30, d10. The section will be rated with FIDE, GM and IM norms are possible. Last year winner was GM Gata Kamsky.

19th Neckar Open 2015 LIVE!

The 19th Neckar Open 2015 is taking place on 2-6th April, 2015, in Deizisau, a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 120′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

The prize fund in Open-A is 12,050 € and the winner will receive 3,000 € + Trophy.

FIDE Women’s World Championship – Final Game 2

The second game of the FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship final match was played in SCC Galactica (Sochi, Krasnaya Polyana) on April 3.

Mariya Muzychuk had White and started the game with 1.е4. Her third move (3.Bb5) came as a surprise for Natalia Pogonina, because earlier Muzychuk played mostly 3.d4.

42nd International Tournament La Roda (Albacete)

The 42nd International Chess Tournament La Roda (Albacete) is taking place from 1-5th April, 2015, at La Caja Blanca in La Roda, Albacete, Spain.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.

The prize fund in total of 11,000 € will be awarded as follows: 2,000 €/ 1,300 €/ 1,000 €/ 800 €/ 700 €/ 600 €/ 500 €/ 400 € …etc.

Many special prizes will be distibuted to the best players in different categories.
