1st Asian University Chess Championship 2015

The 1st Asian University Chess Championships conducted by the Asian University Sports Federation and organized by the Capital University of Physical Education was concluded in a grand manner in Beijing, China.

There were teams from 9 countries, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, the Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and China. China had 3 teams while Sri Lanka had the biggest contingent of 24 players with 4 officials to field 6 teams.

The world strongest female player GM Hou Yifan and GM Primarjan Negi are playing an exhibition match from Nov 12 through Nov 15, 2015, at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis (CCSCSL).

The exhibition match includes:
● Basque Chess
● 4 games Fischer Random (Chess 960) at G/20 + 10 seconds
● 4 games Rapid Chess at G/15 + 10 seconds
● 8 games Blitz Chess at G/3 + 2 seconds

Philippine Interational Open Championship 2015

The Philippine International Chess Championship is taking place from November 9-14, 2015, in Olongapo City, Philippines.

The event is a 10-round Swiss open tournament with the participation of 36 players from 9 different countries.

Top seed is Indian player GM Abhijeet Gupta (2633).

Kings Island Open 2015

The 24th Annual Kings Island Open will be held from November 13-15, 2015, at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati Northeast, 4554 Lake Forest Drive, Blue Ash, Ohio.

The event has 7 sections: Open, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1250 and Under 1000. Each section has either a 3-day schedule (November 13-15) or 2-day schedule (November 14-15) to participate in.

All sections will be played over five rounds of Swiss system, with the time control 40/110, SD/30, d10. Entry fees are from $115 to $130.

The 25th FIDE World Senior Women Chess Championship is taking place from November 9-22, 2015, in Acqui Terme, Piemonte, Italy.

The event is a 10 player round-robin tournament, headed by former World champion for women GM Nona Gaprindashvili (2299).
