The German Rapid Amateur Championship 2024 – Deutschen Schnellschach-Amateurmeisterschaft – is going to take place 12-13 October, as part of the German Rapid Chess Festival. It will be hosted by Brackwed chess club and the games will take place at Ravensberger Spinnerei, Ravensberger Park 1, 33607 Bielefeld. The time control is 15 min + 10 sec and a total of nine rounds will be played.

Registration continues, so far 249 players have signed up for the event.

LCZero, the neural network built on the foundation principle of AlphaZero, continues in the sole lead of TCEC Swiss 7. LCZero took the sole lead after 3 double rounds, and now after 8 double rounds continues to be first with 11.0/16.

The icon player is Magnus Carlsen, and his teammates are superstar players Praggnanandhaa R and Richard Rapport, women superstar players Hou Yifan and Kateryna Lagno, and the prodigy of Alpine SG Pipers is Daniel Dardha.

Gaprindashvili team is awarded to the best team performance of the Chess Olympiad 2024, based on the sum of the ranks of the open and women teams. India won the cup, ahead of USA (silver) and Armenia (bronze)
