India secured the double gold at the Chess Olympiad 2024 with Harika Dronavalli, Rameshbabu Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, and Tania Sachdev making the success of the Indian team complete. Kazakhstan take the silver medals, while the bronze is for USA on tiebreak ahead of Spain, Armenia, and Georgia.

India won the gold and even secured the double gold at the Chess Olympiad 2024. In a dramatic photo fishing the team of USA won the silver medals with better tiebreak ahead of the winners of the 2022 Olympiad Uzbekistan who remained with bronze. With the same points, but lower tiebreak remained the teams of China, Serbia, Armenia, and Germany.

India are 2024 Chess Olympiad champions! Dominant performance of Gukesh D and Arjun Erigaisi and solid play by the teammates secured the title for India.

The gold medal of Gukesh is a special boost for his confidence ahead of the World Chess Championship match. His performance of ~3070 is the second best in history.

Iran and Israel do not play their match from Chess Olympiad 2024

With India basically having the title guaranteed in the open section most of the attention in the final day of the Chess Olympiad is directed towards the women section. With India and Kazakhstan as favorites for the gold, USA and Poland with chances, and multiple teams in contention for medals, the women section will draw attention.

India have practically won the 2024 Chess Olympiad with a round to spare, but there is much excitement with the norms, medals, and individual titles.

Afruza Khamdamova secured a WGM norm at the Chess Olympiad after 9 rounds. Five other players won their WIM norm, including Anastasia Avramidou (Greece), Setayesh Karimi (Iran), Li Ting Tan (Malaysia), Machteld Van Foreest (Netherlands), and Alexandra Zherebtsova (Montenegro).
