Interview with Randa Seder – the youngest participant of the 2022 Chess Olympiad

8-year-old Randa Seder is the youngest participant of the 2022 Chess Olympiad and plays for Palestine’s Women’s National team. She today won her first olympiad game, and Palestine’s Women’s team won the match against Comoros with the maximum 4/4 score. Eman Sawan, Taqwa Hamouri and Randa Seder were excited to win their match today and gave a short post-game interview which can be found below.

The second round of the 2022 Women’s Chess Olympiad brought several individual surprising results, but most of the team favorites managed to win their matches. England’s women’s team today won against Bolivia with the final 3-1 score, with WGM Katarzyna Toma losing to WFM Maria Eugenia Ramirez.

Making first move at Chennai Chess Olympiad might be harder than it sounds #TweetOftheDay

The chess fever caused by the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 in Chennai, India doesn’t stop. The whole city is decked up in chess colors promoting the world’s biggest chess competition. The event attracted a number of journalists who daily report from the tournament and the interest for the chess games is repeatedly seen upon the start of the first round.

GM Pia Cramling wins her Round 2 game in 9 moves!

One of the first games to be finished today in the Women’s Chess Olympiad Round 2 was played between Swedish chess legend GM Pia Cramling and WIM Knarik Mouradian (Lebanon). Pia won the game having Black pieces after only nine moves of play as Mouradian terribly blundered a piece with 9.f3 and resigned immediately after. With Pia Cramling’s quick victory, the Swedish women’s team took the 1-0 lead over Lebanon!
