Radjabov not happy while checking his phone after the Candidates R6 game

The Azerbaijani grandmaster Teimour Radjabov played against Richard Rapport in the 6th round of the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022. He had a dominant position but blundered the win away just one move before the time control. @ChessMike captured a moment when Radjabov checked his phone for the truth after the game and he truly seems unhappy with what he sees (see the video below).

After a thrilling round 6 of the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022, Ian Nepomniachtchi and Fabiano Caruana separated further from the rest of the field. Both players won their R6 games, with Nepo maintaining the sole leadership with 4.5 points and Caruana following him with clear second place and 4 points.

Malika Ziyadin – Sensation of the FIDE World School Chess Championship 2022

7-year-old Kazakhstani chess player Malika Ziyadin made a sensation on the recently finished FIDE World School Chess Championship 2022 in Panama. Scoring the “Fischer result” 9/9 Malika won the merged section of boys and girls aged under 7 and claimed two titles of a single event – she became the FIDE World School Chess Champion for both Open and Girls age categories U7. The second-ranked player on the final rankings Raben Goel scored 2.5 points less.

FIDE World School Chess Champions 2022 crowned in Panama

The FIDE World School Chess Championship 2022 took place from June 10-19, 2022, at the Wyndham Panama Albrook Mall Hotel & Convention Center, Panama City, under the auspices of FIDE and the Panama Chess Federation.

Chess Olympiad Torch Relay – Schedule & Map

The first-ever Chess Olympiad Torch Relay took place on the 19th of June at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi lit the Flame and handed it over to 15th World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand. The Torch will travel through the country to 75 cities, celebrating the 75th Year of the country’s Independence and India’s 1st ever Chess Olympiad.
