The last year has been an innovative and exciting one for Online Chess. 1.680.000 rated games have been played in FIDE Online Arena and 750 Arena titles have been awarded to the members.

From 15 to 17 December 2015 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Dili, Timor-Leste, by the Asian Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Timor-Leste Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The 2nd Zicosur Open is taking place from January 5-10, 2016, in the city of Antofagasta, a port city in northern Chile.

The event is a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament, organized by Antofagasta Chess Society, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Antofagasta.

A total of 127 players from 9 different countries compete with the 90′ + 30″ time control.

The 3rd Azores International Chess Open is scheduled to take place from March 29 to April 2, 2016, in Pavilhão do Mar – Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel, Azores.
