The FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship will take place from February 10 – March 5 2017 in Tehran, Iran.

The 1st Montevideo Open “Copa Marcel Duchamp” 2017 is taking place from 9-15 February, at Montevideo City Hall, Montevideo, Uruguay.

The event is a 9-round Swiss open tournament with top seed GM Sandro Mareco (ARG) 2645.

World Champion Magnus Carlsen joined his sponsor Arctic Fund Management for the Chess & Drinks event.

The European Individual Chess Championship 2017 will take place in Minsk, Belarus, from 29th May to 11th June 2017, in the Sports Palace, which will be the official venue of the Championship.

The event is organized by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk City Executive Committee and Belarus Chess Federation under the auspices of the ECU.
