On June 21, the city of Kaliningrad was the venue for a grand opening of a nationwide competition: the 68th Russian Men’s Chess Championship and the 65th Women’s Chess Championship. For the first time, the competition is being held as part of the international program Chess in Museums implemented by the Russian Chess Federation together with Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation.

The event is a 6-round Swiss tournament, open for players rated over 1850.

The first qualifier in the prestigious FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015 took place on the official FIDE Online platform on June 18.

In the third round of the event Italian WFM Tea Gueci (with nickname marmocchia) met former World champion for women GM Alexandra Kosteniuk (nickname: AlexandraK). It was a very interesting and sharp encounter with ups and downs for both players.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized in Minsk, Belarus from 14 to 17 August 2015, by the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess, in cooperation with the Belarus Chess Federation and the Global Chess Academy of Minsk and under the aus

From 11 to 14 June 2015 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Rosenheim, Germany, by the German Chess Federation and under auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Hotel Hoehensteiger in Rosenheim.

The 6th ShakkiNet International Grandmaster Tournament is taking place from 8-16th June, 2015, in Helsinki, the capital and largest city of Finland.
